The United States is one of the largest countries in the world by area, and as such it has several distinct geophysical regions. Mountain ranges, sea levels, and topography are the primary features that separate these regions. Some regions, like the Atlantic Coastal Plain, are known for agriculture and have a distinct culture, while others like the Rocky Mountain Range have cover a large area and have very few inhabitants.
